the great thing about banksy is not his art, though it’s still pretty cool. but his attitude. he doesn’t give a fuck what everybody and the media in particular are expecting from him. he still doesn’t show his face in cameras and that’s a pretty rare thing nowadays. andy warhol’s 15 minutes of fame comes in mind. some filmmaker guy wanted to make a movie about banksy. but he wasn’t interested in it, so he used the footage to make the documentary “exit through the giftshop” about the guy and streetart. i think the concept is very interesting and i’m looking forward to watch it in the theatre. it’s not über-underground, it’s mainstream - but mainstream can be artsy too.
